About NABCO

NABCO was formed in 1975 to provide an organizational structure for black county officials to review, share and develop responses to local and national issues. NABCO works to improve resources utilization, and to promote the sharing of knowledge and methods to improve government operations.

NABCO is a membership organization governed by an executive committee representing both elected and other county officials who operate in a major policy role within county government.

Haiti Appeal

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

On behalf of the National Association of Black County Officials, we are devastated over the recent earthquake that has ravished Haiti and caused the loss of life to many residents.

This is an immediate call to action by our organization and we request your timely support.

We send our heartfelt condolences to the people and leadership of Haiti. We also pledge our support and join with President Obama in calling to action our members and associated organizations to provide whatever resources needed to assist in brining relief to the citizens affected in Haiti. This is no small order nor do we have time to delay in responding to this critical challenge.

In recent years, many NABCO members have been faced with a similar devastating natural disaster and the need for support. It is time now that we use our collective energies and resources to assist our Haitian colleagues and associates.

We ask that you make a financial contribution either through our National Policy Alliance (NPA) partner The World Conference of Mayors (WCM) at www.worldconferenceofmayors.org which will go directly to local representatives and community based organizations (cbo’s) or to www.whitehouse.gov.

Should you have questions, please contact, our friend Johnny Ford (former Mayor of Tuskegee, AL and founder of the WCM) at 334-727-4035 or Vanessa Williams, executive director, National Conference of Black Mayors (NCBM) at 404-765-6444.

Most Sincere,
Robert Steele
President
